Welcome, Brave one.
Hi, I’m Denise.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Somatic Therapist, and Emotional Release Bodywork Practitioner, I believe the body holds an incredible capacity for healing, and that sometimes we simply need enough space, safety, and support to slow down and listen.
So much of what we carry lives beneath words. Our bodies remember the ways we've had to adapt, protect ourselves, push through, hold on, and survive. These patterns aren't something to judge or get rid of. They often developed for very good reasons.
Together, we create space to become curious about what your body may be holding and what is asking for your attention.
I offer two ways to work together: Somatic Therapy and Emotional Release Bodywork. You may choose to explore either on its own, or we can weave elements of both together when it feels supportive. Both honor the wisdom of the body and its natural capacity for healing.
Somatic Therapy offers a space to explore your experiences through conversation while also paying attention to emotions, sensations, patterns, and what is happening within your nervous system and body.
Emotional Release Bodywork offers a more body-centered experience, using touch, pressure, breath, and awareness to explore what may be held within the body—often with less emphasis on talking.
Whichever way we work together, we move at a pace that honors you—without forcing, rushing, or trying to manufacture a particular experience.
There is something deeply powerful about being witnessed without judgment as you begin to listen more closely to yourself and your body.
Whatever brings you here, it would be an honor to walk alongside you in your healing.
What is Somatics?
The word somatics comes from the Greek word soma, meaning the living body—the body as it is experienced from within.
Somatics isn't simply about muscles or posture. It's about recognizing that our thoughts, emotions, beliefs, relationships, and life experiences are all expressed through the body.
The way we breathe.
The way we move.
The way we brace.
The way we connect.
The way we protect ourselves.
Our bodies are constantly telling the story of how we've learned to be in the world.
Somatic work invites us to become curious about those embodied patterns—not to judge or fix them, but to understand them.
As we listen to the body's wisdom and experience new possibilities, those patterns begin to shift. We develop greater capacity, more choice, and a deeper connection with ourselves.
For me, somatics isn't about becoming calm all the time.
It's about becoming more fully alive.

Somatic Therapy is a body-centered approach to counseling that integrates traditional talk therapy with awareness of the nervous system, body sensations, emotions, and lived experience. Rather than staying only in the mind, we work with the body as an essential part of the healing process.

Explore thoughts, emotions, and life experiences through a somatic lens
Increase awareness of your body's sensations, patterns, and protective responses
Build nervous system capacity, regulation, and resilience
Develop a deeper connection with yourself through curiosity and compassionate presence
Move toward lasting healing by working with your body—not against it
This work honors the body's innate wisdom, helping you reconnect with yourself, process life's experiences more fully, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Receive focused, intuitive pressure on specific points of the body
Connect with and release long-held emotions through breath, awareness, and sensation
Revisit and tend to early emotional wounds through gentle Inner Child work
