Emotional Release Bodywork Workshops
One-day, hands-on experiences for exploring emotion, connection, and what the body has been holding.
What is an Emotional Release Bodywork Workshop?
Emotional Release Bodywork workshops are a chance to experience this work in a small group setting—to move beyond talking about what you feel and explore what happens when you begin listening to the body.
This isn't a workshop where you'll spend the day sitting and listening to me talk about Emotional Release Bodywork. You'll learn about the work by experiencing it.
Throughout the day, I'll introduce and demonstrate different areas of the body we can work with. You'll partner with another participant and take turns giving and receiving the work, while I move throughout the room offering guidance and support. You'll also have the experience of witnessing others and being witnessed yourself.
This work asks for participation. You'll be invited to notice what's happening inside of you, communicate, stay curious, and be willing to encounter some vulnerability—not only while receiving the work, but while offering it to another person. Giving the work can bring up your own feelings and responses, too.
There is nothing you need to make happen. Participation doesn't mean performing, forcing an emotional release, or having a certain kind of experience. Sometimes being deeply present, quiet, and attentive is the work. We slow down, pay attention, and make space for whatever is there.
No previous bodywork experience is needed. I'll introduce the work, demonstrate what you'll be practicing, and offer guidance throughout the day.
How We’ll Spend Our Day
-
We’ll begin in circle, get to know one another, and create the container for our time together. We may explore vulnerability and connection through guided exercises, and we’ll establish shared agreements for how we want to be together in the space.
-
Before we begin the hands-on portion, we’ll talk about Emotional Release Bodywork—what we’re doing, why we work with the body in this way, and what you might experience.
-
I’ll demonstrate the bodywork we’ll be exploring that day, including the areas of the body we’ll work with and how to approach them.
-
You’ll partner with another participant and have the opportunity to both give and receive the work. We’ll take a break for lunch between sessions, giving you time to eat, rest, and reset before switching roles.
-
We’ll come back together in circle at the end of the day to slow down, reflect on the experience, and make space for whatever you’re leaving with.
What you may experience:
Within Yourself
Emotion, sensation, memories, movement, laughter, tears, stillness—or something you can't quite name. Your experience may feel big and expressive or quiet and subtle. There is no right way to experience this work.
In Connection
There is something powerful about doing this work alongside others. You'll have the opportunity to practice vulnerability, give and receive support, witness another person's experience, and be witnessed in your own.
You are always encouraged to honor your own pace, communicate what you need, and remain in choice throughout the experience.
Who These Workshops Are For:
People come to Emotional Release Bodywork workshops for all kinds of reasons.
You may be looking for a deeper way to explore your own emotional experience through the body. You may be craving meaningful connection and the experience of doing this work alongside others. You may be a therapist, bodyworker, or practitioner curious about experiencing the work for yourself. Or maybe you've heard about Emotional Release Bodywork and simply want to know what it's like.
A one-day workshop offers a way to step into the work and experience it for yourself without committing to ongoing sessions or a longer program.
No experience is needed and nothing is required of you beyond willingness and curiosity. Come for yourself, come for connection, or come simply because something about this work is calling you.

Is this the right time for you to attend a workshop?
Emotional Release Bodywork can bring emotion, sensation, and unexpected experiences to the surface. It’s worth considering whether you have the space and support for whatever may arise.
Please reach out before registering if:
You're moving through something particularly heavy right now or have very little support around you.
You're pregnant or recovering from an injury or recent surgery.
You have a health condition, take medication, or have another physical consideration that may affect hands-on bodywork.
Reaching out doesn't necessarily mean you can't participate. It gives us a chance to talk about what's going on, whether the work can be adapted, and whether this feels like the right time.
If you're currently under the care of a doctor, therapist, psychiatrist, or other healthcare provider and aren't sure whether this work is appropriate for you, please check with them as well.
What This Work Is — and Isn't
Emotional Release Bodywork is a complementary, hands-on practice supporting emotional well-being, self-awareness, and body-based healing. It is not psychotherapy, counseling, mental health treatment, or medical treatment.
This work isn't about forcing a release or creating a particular outcome. Every body responds differently, and whatever arises is met with curiosity, choice, and respect for your own pace.
